Communicators are gregarious individuals who thrive on interaction and communication with others, enjoying experiencing the world around them. They take special pleasure in exploring social aspects of the world: meeting new people, engaging with them to experience different characters and temperaments, and even sampling different cultures.

Accordingly, this type tends to be quite open to new experiences and different views. They rarely let the prejudices or stereotypes they may hold for some groups of people diminish their openness toward them or their willingness to engage with them socially. Coupled with their accumulated experience, this makes them good at connecting with others, reading their cues and responding accordingly.

Communicators meet and make new friends easily, as they’re very good at feeling and observing the social atmosphere of a room or a one-on-one interaction. Being generally adept at social exchange and communication puts this personality type ahead of the pack when it comes to jobs like sales, negotiating, public relations, marketing, journalism, trading, and similar professions where people skills are key.

While socially open, this type doesn’t like making predetermined plans, especially not long-term ones. They prefer to let themselves explore, experience, and see how things will look later on, making decisions or corrections accordingly as they go. Guiding themselves by a predetermined path feels restricting, making them tend to feel unpleasantly limited.

They’re also not fond of the abstract, theoretical, or philosophical, nor do they enjoy long speculative discussions. Communicators don’t favor mentally pitting different ideas against one another to evaluate them. They’re more down-to-earth and practical, gravitating toward tangible things closer to their own life experience.

Since this type likes to explore and experience new things, they can easily become bored by repetitive jobs, especially when they don’t leave room for freeform social interaction. And while they dislike working alone, they can also become easily bored by predictable social interactions and routine communications.

Tending to be open toward different social vibes and cultures, they can comfortably try out or adopt a new style, fashion, food, music, or almost anything. They also enjoy bringing other people into such things with them, sharing their fun experiences or discoveries with others. Some Communicators may even become trendsetters.

Communicators are fun and exciting – naturally the life of the party. They have a knack for “working a room,” and others often see them as charming and charismatic. Because of their social curiosity and eagerness to engage with others, those very close to this type may sometimes feel like they’re not getting enough attention.

Communicators don’t commit easily, especially when it comes to their social lives. But this isn’t a lack of loyalty or an unwillingness to commit whatsoever – they just don’t like to get ahead of themselves. They prefer that commitments emerge naturally from the experiences resulting from their exploration. Since they’re rarely instantly certain of what they want to commit to, they prefer just to let things develop.

This type is willing to take risks when necessary. They have quick minds and solve problems on their feet, but the solutions they come up with may not always conform to convention. Communicators believe it’s sometimes better to apologize than to ask for permission, and this disregard for taking the safer path can be difficult for the more cautious people in their lives.

However, being around Communicators is often worth enduring some difficulty, as they’re exciting, intense individuals who fascinate friends and loved ones socially – and have much to offer any group. They’re masters of people skills, and as such, they make outstanding representatives for an organization or business enterprise.
